Birds of Costa Rica
Our Elderhostel (now Road Scholar) birding trip to Costa Rica in 2006 was my introduction to digital photography. Knowing that otherwise two cameras would have been desirable, one with 400 iso film, the other with 100 iso film, to accommodate anticipated low and bright light circumstances, I decided it was time to accept technological progress and set aside my beloved Velvia film. Although I had "tried out" my new Canon 5D and dutifully "read the manual" well in advance of the trip, I'm struck in reviewing those images by how much room for improvement there can be in one's photography! At least some of the images are passable and worth posting, because the birds and their habitats are a traveler and photographer's delight. And, yes, I must retrieve our Costa Rican birder's manual and post confirmed identities of these colorful creatures!
